Technique 2 - This work was inspired by a walk in the forest just after New Year. Nature is important to me and at the turn of the year I always feel the power of renewal that is latent in nature at this time, just waiting to burst forth. This painting is called ‘Mother Earth Emerging’, I might also have called it ‘January’, but that would not have conveyed my feelings about it. This is also an example of a sketch that has been turned upside down in order to arrive at an image that speaks to me.
